The new health center
ZEPoint was chosen by IRST – Romagna Institute for the Study of Cancer – in Meldola, Italy as a Covid-Free space to better protect its patients. It is a standard ZEP module – a prefabricated, antibacterial, and environmentally friendly healthcare facility – designed to welcome the patients of the IRST IRCCS of Meldola outside the main building. It was designed to safeguard the pathways and safety of both patients and healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 emergency. The structure is 100% Made in Italy with natural building materials, and it combines sustainable architecture and cutting-edge technology. ZEP is a prefabricated healthcare module, a decentralized medical facility created as a concrete response to the Covid-19 emergency.
It can be assembled and disassembled as needed in support of existing health facilities or placed as an urban neighborhood health unit. It is as easy to assemble as a temporary prefabricated structure, but as firm and durable as a traditional building. It is the only building construction that comes with a 30-year warranty, it can be assembled where and when required, it stays in place for as long as necessary, and can be dismantled and reassembled in a very short time. Multiple ZEP modules can be combined as required to cater to different needs, as they become apparent. At present, we are in the process of designing a 3,000 square meter health facility made entirely of aggregated ZEP modules, which will be the first health facility designed with post-Covid features.
The units can be equipped with a negative pressure air system and a decontamination area before the staff changing room. The ZEPs can either be connected to the water mains and sewage network, or be completely independent, thanks to the service compartment located on an outer side of the module to house systems, tanks, and medical gases. There are also external compartments for the deposit of waste, so it can be removed without contaminating the internal spaces. Our modules can also be equipped with a solar panel on the roof; so, essentially, they can even be installed off-grid in areas without service networks. By request, all the most exposed contact surfaces – handles, floors, dividing panels, containers of sterile material – can be made of patented GOLDélite antibacterial and antiviral materials. Investing in ZEP healthcare modules shows foresight and innovation, as well as a safe return on investment: the structures come with a 30-year warranty, and they can easily be disassembled, reassembled, and moved to be relocated wherever necessary. Moreover, the ZEP modules are the only ones designed to ensure premium indoor comfort for health workers, environmental biosafety for healthcare professionals and patients alike, and full integration with IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (artificial intelligence) technology.
